Secretary General Ursula Oberhollenzer was invited to hold a key note and moderate a press conference of three companies – eww, Holter and Teufelberger – as well as the city of Wels at the occasion of World Earth Day 2024. The key note focused on innovation, because the implementation of sustaibility activities contributes a lot to innovative solutions. This can range form the implementation of reuseable transport boxes produced with recycled material as executed by Holter to a „cradle2cradle“-project from Teufelberger: „better.collect“ is the first worldwide collection system for plastic straps, that are already producted from recycelt PET-bottles by the company since 25 years. Holter as whole seller of sanitary equipment is also impulse generator for innovative solutions in this sector, e.g. water-saving sanitation and is fully equipping the company with renweable energy solutions. eww as an energy supplier based on renewable sources is per se a company with sustaibale offers mainly from photovoltaics and waste processing for private as well as corporate customers. They fully target the further expansion and offers in the field of hydropower for e-mobility and energie storage. And the city of Wels is a role model with unsealing projects, the promotion of public transport and cycling as well as the expansion of renewable energy for the city, of course in close cooperation with eww. The good cooperation of the companies and the exchange with stakeholders are beautiful examples for applied sustainability that will hopefully give further impulse for innovation and cooperation.
