[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6803″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]On the occasion of the authors presentation of the SDG 8 reference work from Springer Verlag<\/strong>, numerous interested parties gathered on the topic of “Future: Decent Work?”<\/strong> and exchanged ideas with the editors and authors on this SDG, which is also important for companies.<\/p>\n

First, co-editor Andrea Sihn-Weber, MS<\/strong> briefly introduced the 2030 Agenda and gave an insight into the comprehensive publication on the broad spectrum of SDG 8. This work is to be followed by others, e.g. on SDG 12, 3 and 5. A total of seven authors presented their contributions, and in the subsequent personal exchange, the topics were deepened and some new cooperation opportunities were discussed. <\/p>\n

DI Philipp Besinger from Fraunhofer Austria Research GmbH spoke about Responsible AI<\/strong>, which – if used correctly and human-centered – can serve as a guide to a sustainable working world for manufacturing companies.<\/p>\n

Mag. Sandra Holub<\/strong> from <\/strong>University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (Wieselburg Campus) took us into the world of direct sales 2.0<\/strong>, where digital ways as the key to sustainable business of regional small producers between tradition and innovation is both a game changer and a (too) big challenge.<\/p>\n

Anna Herzog-Lauks<\/strong> from myAbility Social Enterprise GmbH immersed us in the world of accessibility in the labor market<\/strong> and gave us numerous tips on how equal access for people with disabilities can succeed and what opportunities are associated with it for companies.<\/p>\n

Mag. Ruth-Emily Eckrieder<\/strong> from IKEA Austria GmbH reported on the strategic success factors for eliminating the gender pay gap<\/strong> at IKEA Austria and what this entails for employees, society and the company. An amazing success story, because the gender pay gap in Austria is still one of the highest in the EU! <\/p>\n

Stephen Rabenlehner, MA<\/strong> from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Fundamental and Human Rights reported on their research on the opportunities and risks of audits and certifications<\/strong> in the observance of human rights in the activity chain, which is a major challenge for internationally operating companies as well as certification organizations.<\/p>\n

Roswitha Reisinger, MSc<\/strong> from Lebensart Verlag took us on a journey to sustainability <\/strong>and the many new insights that were associated with it. After all, sustainable tourism is demanded by consumers and at the same time a great opportunity for tourism to develop new offers and thus remain successful under volatile conditions. <\/p>\n

Secretary General Ursula Oberhollenzer, MSc<\/strong> concluded the authors’ presentations with the topic of impact investing<\/strong>, which is a relatively young but very important area of the financial industry and generates positive impacts for the environment and society in addition to a financial return. In this way, investments can also massively support the implementation of the SDGs! <\/p>\n

Among the guests were additional authors of this reference work such as Carmencita Nader and Daniela Bock from Erste Bank Social Banking, G\u00fcnter Strobl from DOCK12, Brunhilde Schram from Eccostandards & More, Wilfried Sihn from Fraunhofer and Christian Brandst\u00e4tter from Lebensart Verlag, as well as Prof. Ren\u00e9 Schmidpeter, who is also the editor and brought Prof. Kanji Tanimoto from Waseda University in Japan as a guest. Furthermore, Stefan Dinhof from the Fonds Soziales Wien, Verena Bracher from Springer Gabler, Stefan Blachfellner from the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and President of the CSR Dialogue Forum, Leo B\u00f6hm from Strabag, Max Harnoncourt from Balloon Events, Advisory Board member Doris Bock from db. Unternehmer-Beratung GmbH and Johanna Kirner, student at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and head of the ISBSC.
